
COL Dan G. Foust
2007-2008 Commander
Colonel Daniel G. Foust attended ROTC at The Pennsylvania State
University and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S.
Army in July 1972. Following the Field Artillery Officer Basic
Course, he served with the 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery,
1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas.
He left
active duty in 1976 to pursue his career as a high school
mathematics instructor and was assigned to the 450th Civil
Affairs Company for his initial USAR duty. Following 4 years of
teaching at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, he was
selected for a teaching position at Fort Worth Country Day
School. Upon his relocation to Fort Worth, Colonel Foust served
with 4159th USARF School for 5 years. In 1985, he
assumed command of B Battery, 1st Battalion, 89th Field
Artillery, 95th Division (Training). In 1990, he joined the 5th
Intelligence Training School in San Antonio. In 1995, he
assumed command of his favorite battalion: 1st Battalion, 89th
Field Artillery. He completed his 30 years of service by
serving as Controller for the 95th Division (Training) from 1999
through 2002, when he retired.
Colonel Foust continues to teach at Fort Worth Country Day, where he
serves as Chair of the Mathematics Department as well as a math
instructor. He continues to reside in Fort Worth with his wife
Linda.
